ACIDQUENCH: Free Acid Filter Plugin by Tonecraft Tokyo
Tonecraft Tokyo has released ACIDQUENCH, a free acid filter plugin that pairs resonant low-pass filtering with a tempo-synced 16-step pattern sequencer. Available for both macOS and Windows, the plugin allows producers to inject iconic TB-303 squelch and rhythmic movement into any existing audio source without tedious automation drawing.
16-Step Sequenced Acid Filtering
While hardware-inspired acid synths usually require dedicated MIDI programming, ACIDQUENCH operates as an insert effect that shapes the sounds you already have. The core engine is built around a sharp resonant filter with aggressive drive characteristics, delivering classic biting overtones when pushed hard.
The centerpiece of ACIDQUENCH is its 16-step cutoff sequencer. Producers can click and draw cutoff levels per step directly inside the interface, keeping modulation locked to DAW tempo. This makes it straightforward to turn flat synth plucks, sustain pads, or percussion loops into pulsing, dynamic acid sequences.
Key features include:
- 16-step interactive cutoff sequencer locked to host tempo
- Resonant acid filter topology with vintage bite
- Integrated saturation stage to overdrive high-resonance peaks
- Dry/wet mix slider for parallel audio processing
- Low CPU footprint for multiple channel instances
- Royalty-free for use in commercial releases
System Compatibility and Download
ACIDQUENCH supports modern digital audio workstations on both Windows and macOS systems. It ships in 64-bit VST3 and Audio Unit (AU) formats, ensuring compatibility with Ableton Live, FL Studio, Logic Pro, Cubase, and REAPER.
ACIDQUENCH is available as a free download from Tonecraft Tokyo with no subscription fees or mandatory purchase steps. It offers an intuitive, immediate approach to acid modulation for electronic genres ranging from techno and electro to breakbeat.
